A Zoho alternative built for agencies

Zoho is one of the broadest business software catalogues there is. Zoho CRM, Zoho Projects, Zoho Books, Zoho Desk, Zoho Mail and dozens of other apps can be bought one by one or together as Zoho One. For many companies that breadth is exactly the point: almost any department can find an app for its job.

Agencies tend to feel that breadth differently. The client, the deal, the project, the conversation and the invoice are one story, yet in a suite of separate apps they live in separate places that someone has to connect, configure and keep in step. Tamaam takes the opposite approach: one workspace built around client work, where every record is linked to the others from the start.

Where Zoho is a strong choice

Zoho earns its reputation. Zoho CRM is a mature, highly configurable sales tool, Zoho Books is a capable accounting product, and the suite covers areas Tamaam does not set out to cover, such as help desks, HR and full bookkeeping. If your company needs one vendor for many unrelated departments, or deep customisation of a sales process with its own developers or partners, a suite like Zoho One is built for that.

Zoho also gives administrators a great deal of control: custom modules, workflows and integrations between its own apps. Teams with the time and expertise to configure it can shape it closely to their process.

Where agencies feel the gap

An agency's day crosses every app at once. A client email leads to a change in scope, the change moves a deadline, the deadline moves a milestone, and the milestone decides when an invoice goes out. When CRM, projects, mail and books are separate products, each step means switching apps and trusting that the sync between them carried the right context.

The cost shows up in small ways: an account manager who cannot see whether the last invoice was paid without opening another product, a project lead who finds out about a promise made in a sales email only at kickoff, or a weekly review that starts with exporting reports from three places.

  • Setting up and maintaining the links between separate apps
  • Context that stays in one app while the work moves to another
  • Different screens, settings and permissions for each product
  • Reports that need to be assembled before anyone can read them

How Tamaam is different

Tamaam is one product, not a bundle. Clients, contacts, leads, deals, projects, tasks, the inbox, the calendar, documents, forms and finance are modules of the same workspace, and everything is a record linked to the others. Open a client and you see their projects, people, conversations, documents and invoices on one page; open a project and you see its plan, its team's hours and its money.

Nefer, Tamaam's AI teammate, works across those records. She notices what needs attention and prepares the next step, such as a reply, a follow-up or an invoice draft, with links to the evidence behind it. Anything that reaches a client or touches your money waits for a person to approve it.

Clients have their own view too. A client portal shows them where the work is, what waits on them and what they have been sent, without giving them access to your workspace.

When Zoho is the better choice

Choose Zoho if you need accounting with the depth of a dedicated bookkeeping product, a help desk, HR or other departments under one vendor, or a sales process customised far beyond what a service business usually needs. Tamaam's finance module covers invoices, payments, time and profitability for client work; it is not a replacement for an accountant's ledger.

Choose Tamaam if your business is client work and your main problem is keeping the relationship, the delivery and the money together without integrating separate apps.

Moving from Zoho

The Agency plan includes priority help and a guided move from Zoho, ClickUp or Trello. Start with the records that carry the most context: active clients and their contacts, open deals and current projects. Closed history can follow once the team is working in Tamaam day to day.

Tamaam is in early access, so the move happens when your workspace is invited. Request access and tell the team which Zoho apps you use today.

Questions

Is Tamaam a replacement for Zoho One?

How much does Tamaam cost compared with Zoho?
Tamaam is priced a member a month: Starter $14.99, Pro $29 and Agency $49, from five members. Enterprise is priced by contract.
