A Trello alternative for agencies that outgrew the board

Trello, from Atlassian, made the kanban board familiar to millions of teams. Cards move across lists, Power-Ups add calendars, automation and integrations, and higher plans add views such as timeline, calendar and table. It is quick to learn and easy to share.

Many agencies start on Trello and find that the board shows the work but not the business: the client, the deal, the email, the proposal and the invoice are elsewhere. Tamaam keeps a board for the work and links it to everything around it.

Where Trello is a strong choice

Trello is hard to beat for simplicity. A new person understands a board in minutes, cards hold checklists, attachments and comments, and Power-Ups connect it to many other tools. For a small team, a simple process or work that sits alongside Jira and Confluence, it does the job well.

Where agencies feel the gap

As an agency grows, boards multiply: one per client, one per project, one for sales. The answers the business needs sit across all of them and outside them: which clients owe money, which projects are over their hours, who has room next week. Power-Ups can add pieces, but each one is another setting to manage.

  • Client and deal records outside the board
  • Proposals, signatures and invoices in other tools
  • Workload across many boards
  • Questions about the business answered by hand

How Tamaam is different

Tasks in Tamaam work as a list, a board, a timeline, a calendar or the team's week. Each task belongs to a project, each project to a client, and the client page shows the relationship, the projects, the conversations, the documents and the money together.

Leads, deals, the shared inbox, the calendar with booking pages, documents with signatures, forms and finance are modules of the same workspace, not Power-Ups. Nefer reads across them, notices what needs attention and prepares the next step for a person to approve.

When Trello is the better choice

Choose Trello if a simple board is all your team needs, if your work is mostly internal, or if you rely on its place in the Atlassian ecosystem.

Choose Tamaam if your boards have become the place where client work goes to be tracked while the client, the email and the money live somewhere else.

Questions to ask before you switch

A new tool is worth the move only if it removes work your team does every week. Before you compare features, write down the questions people ask most often and where they go to answer them today. If the answer to most of them is "in two or three places", a connected workspace will save time. If the answer is "in Trello, and it works", it may not.

  • Where does the team look to see what a client owes?
  • Who owns each client conversation, and how do you know?
  • How do you see who has room next week?
  • What happens to the context when a project changes hands?

Moving from Trello

The Agency plan includes priority help and a guided move from Zoho, ClickUp or Trello. Bring the boards for active client work first and connect each one to its client as a project; archive the rest.
