Use case

Client portal software that shows clients their part, and nothing else

Clients ask the same questions every week: where are we, what do you need from us, what has been invoiced? Answering them by email takes time, and a separate portal that someone has to update by hand soon falls behind the real project.

In Tamaam the client portal is drawn from the project itself. You choose what the client sees, the milestones, deliverables, approvals, invoices, files and team, and it stays current because it reads the same records your team works in. Tamaam is in early access.

Why an agency needs a client portal

A portal gives the client one dependable place to check progress and do their part. That reduces status emails, but the bigger gain is clarity: when the client can see the next milestone and the approval it needs from them, decisions arrive sooner and fewer surprises reach the end of the project.

The portal only works if it is accurate. That is why it should read from the project, not be maintained beside it.

What your client sees

Preview the project as the client sees it before you share it. Choose what belongs on the client's side of the work.

  • Client-visible milestones and the approvals they need
  • Deliverables and the files you decide to share
  • Invoices you have sent, and what is due
  • The team members who are working with them

What stays inside your workspace

Internal discussion and time entries stay inside your workspace. Internal notes on a client thread are never seen by the client. Your team can talk openly about the work in the same place the work happens, without worrying about what the client might read.

Approvals and payment in the same flow

Milestones can carry a client sign-off and a payment. When a client approves a milestone, the next step on your side is clear, and the invoice that belongs to it sits in the same record. Documents such as proposals and agreements are read, accepted and signed by the client on their own page.

Your brand, not ours

What clients see carries your logo and colours. On Starter it says Powered by Tamaam; on Pro and above there is no Tamaam branding anywhere your clients look.

Setting up a portal your clients will use

Start small. Share the milestones and the next approval first, then add files and invoices once the client is used to checking in. Tell the client in your welcome message what they will find there and what you will still send by email, so the portal answers their questions instead of adding another place to look.

Keep the client's people on the project's record, so you know who has access. When someone leaves the client's team, remove them from the project and their access goes with it.

  • Decide which milestones and approvals the client should see
  • Preview the portal as the client before sharing
  • Introduce it in the welcome message, with what to expect
  • Review who has access when the client's team changes

For teams with many clients

For an agency with dozens of active clients, a portal drawn from the records scales without extra work: every project can have its client view, and nobody has to remember to update it. Clients and guests are free on every plan, so sharing work does not add to your bill.
