The idea to put into practice.

A useful brief names the outcome, audience, deliverables and decision maker. Explain the deadline, why it matters and what the client must supply. More fields do not necessarily mean better understanding.

Use a form for repeatable intake questions and a conversation for uncertainty. Avoid gathering sensitive details in a broad form unless necessary and appropriately handled.

Forms and Documents previews show the connected intake direction. This is a working method, not a claim that submitted preview forms create live records.

A useful way to approach it

  1. Ask what must change for the client.
  2. Separate required deliverables from ideas.
  3. Identify the approver.
  4. List inputs needed before work starts.

Try it with fictional work.

Write six homepage redesign questions. Include the business goal, the approver and a dependency that could block delivery.

Before you move on

  • Outcome specific
  • Deliverables named
  • Approver known
  • Inputs have owners

Check your understanding.
