The idea to put into practice.

Review decisions, blockers and milestones. Identify what moved, what is at risk and what someone must decide. Activity without a decision leaves the team where it started.

Record each change’s request, impact and approval. Communicate the agreement to the client; do not hide an extra commitment in an internal comment.

Collect final files, access notes, ownership and remaining responsibilities. A closed task does not prove the client received a usable handover.

A useful way to approach it

  1. Review open decisions and risks.
  2. Approve changes before commitments.
  3. Prepare final files and access notes.
  4. Confirm acceptance and responsibilities.

Try it with fictional work.

Create a website handover checklist with hosting ownership, design files and a post-launch support boundary.

Before you move on

  • Changes approved
  • Final version known
  • Files accessible
  • Responsibilities explicit

Check your understanding.
