The idea to put into practice.

A task describes an action or result. ‘Homepage’ is a topic; ‘Prepare the homepage wireframe for review’ explains the work. Link it to the project so its purpose stays visible.

Use one accountable person even when several contribute. Dates should reflect dependencies and commitments. If client copy must arrive first, record that dependency rather than pretending work can start.

Tasks and Projects previews demonstrate connected delivery. Review the actual module and release state before adopting a production workflow.

A useful way to approach it

  1. Split the plan into meaningful actions.
  2. Write a result for each task.
  3. Choose one accountable person.
  4. Check dependencies before dates.

Try it with fictional work.

Rewrite ‘Design’, ‘Client’ and ‘Website’ as useful tasks. Add an owner, completion check and dependency to each.

Before you move on

  • Result clear
  • Project linked
  • One accountable person
  • Dependencies considered

Check your understanding.
