Create work from a client

Start a project, task or deal with the account already connected.

Create a delivery project

  1. Choose New → Project or Work → New project.

Confirm the form names the intended client.

  2. Enter Project, Billing, Value and Due.

Check whether the engagement is a fixed fee, retainer or time and materials. Review the defaults rather than accepting them automatically.

  3. Choose Create project.

Find it under Work, then open its project page to prepare the detailed plan and team.

Add a client task

Use New → Task for a form with Task, Project, Assignee, Due, Estimate and Priority. No project is a deliberate choice for account work outside a delivery engagement. The quick Add task row is useful for a title-first entry; inspect its assignment and dates afterward. The task also appears in Tasks.

Keep proposed work in Deals

New → Deal asks for Deal, Value and Kind. It starts at Proposal with the client and contact set. Use a deal for an opportunity; use a project for agreed delivery. Review the existing pipeline before adding a second record for the same work.

Check the new record before continuing

Verify the account, owner and record type in the destination. If you chose the wrong form, cancel before saving. Use the immediate Undo when offered for an accidental creation, and inspect existing records before trying again.
