Define scope and value

Keep the commercial total and its scope lines in agreement before preparing a proposal or delivery handoff.

Read the deal’s current value

Open the deal and review Value and Fee basis. Confirm whether the amount describes a project or retainer before comparing it with the scope.

Build the scope

Expand What the figure is made of and choose Add a line. Give each line a clear deliverable name and amount, then add it. Edit existing lines when the scope changes and remove obsolete lines deliberately.

Resolve a total mismatch

Read the total beneath the lines. If the lines should define the deal’s value, choose Set the value from the lines. If the deal total is correct, correct the lines instead. Check the currency and avoid adding the same deliverable twice.

Check downstream work

Review linked proposals and agreements after a scope change. A deal’s updated amount is not evidence that a previously shared document was revised. The won-work handoff uses scope lines for project deliverables, so reconcile them before that step.
