Select the intended tasks

  1. Open List and narrow the work.

Use filters to make the intended set easy to verify.

  2. Open Display and select → Select rows.

The row controls become selection checkboxes rather than completion controls.

  3. Tick the required rows.

Read each title. Select every row shown applies to the currently shown set; it is not permission to act on unrelated records.

  4. Check the selected count.

The bulk bar confirms how many tasks the next action will affect.

CompleteSelected-task bar → CompleteCompletes the selected tasks.
Assign…Selected-task bar → Assign… → personChanges the responsible assignee for the selected tasks.
+1 weekSelected-task bar → +1 weekMoves the selected due dates by a week; review commitments before choosing it.
DeleteSelected-task bar → DeleteRemoves the selected tasks; use Undo if the operation was unintended.
ClearSelected-task bar → ClearClears the current selection without changing the tasks.

Verify and recover

Read the change notice, then check a representative record and the resulting work set. A changed status, assignee or deadline may move rows out of the current view.

Use Undo immediately when the set was wrong. Clear selection before starting unrelated work, and turn off Select rows when you want the row controls to mark completion again.
